St Mary's Inn – The Restaurant
At St Mary’s Inn and Restaurant we’re unashamed foodies. but that doesn’t mean that we shy away from the classic pub food that we all love and, on occasions, crave. We just do it with real attention to detail.
For example, who hasn’t on occasions craved fish and chips? We just make sure that it’s cooked to perfection, with triple-cooked chips, mushy peas and tartare sauce. Likewise, our pie of the day is designed to satisfy and delight, with those triple-cooked chips and beautifully cooked vegetables to complete the experience.
We’re also aware that, sometimes, dining is a night out in itself, with perhaps a special occasion to celebrate or a special someone to treat and pamper. That’s when our seasonal specials board comes into its own, alongside main courses like Pan-Roasted Skrei Cod, Creamed Spelt, Cauliflower Puree, Cavolo Nero with a Hazelnut Buerre Noisette, plus nods to some of the great dishes of the North East, like Northumbrian Pan Haggerty with Savoy Cabbage, Poached Egg, Smoked Cheese & Truffle Sauce with Crispy Onions.
Alongside these traditional, seasonal and special dishes, we offer a great range of carefully selected wines by the glass and the bottle and ales by the pint.
We’re also, unashamedly proud of our sweet-toothed dessert menu. Again, classics like Sticky Toffee Pudding nestle alongside local options including a really satisfying Northumbrian Cheeses option, and a particular favourite of ours, Rhubarb and Custard Tart With A Rhubarb Sorbet.
Above all else, we want our guests to enjoy their meal and we aim to create a relaxed atmosphere. So, feel free to come as dressed up or down as feels you like. But please come with an appetite! You can view the St Mary’s Inn menus on their website – these change on a regular basis, so keep an eye out for the latest exciting options!
