St Mary's Inn – The Hotel

At St Mary’s Inn and Restaurant we’re incredibly proud of the beautiful part of the world we inhabit. England’s North-East is a wonderful place to live and work, but it’s also a fabulous destination for a holiday or short stay.

Whether you’re visiting Newcastle, one of the UK’s most exciting cities, with stunning architecture and legendary nightlife, or heading north and east to the beaches and coastal towns and villages of Northumberland, we’re a great stopping off point or base for a longer stay.

Close to the A1, we’re within an hour’s drive of a huge range of tourist destinations.

Our bedrooms are large and roomy and extremely relaxing, making a good night’s sleep all the easier. The rooms’ ambience is carefully created, combining that space with an airy and uncluttered look, complemented by a mix of wrought-iron bedsteads and well-worn antiques – perhaps a Victorian wardrobe or Edwardian desk. Our bathrooms are similarly roomy and well-lit.

There’s also space for and extra bed or two in our luxury rooms, so useful if you’re travelling with children. Adjoining bedrooms are also available if you’re planning a bigger family getaway.

As dog lovers ourselves, we understand that dogs are an integral part of many families, and they’re are very welcome at St Mary’s Inn. We’ll even provide a bowl and bedding and they can join you for dinner too as they are allowed in the bar.

So, the only thing you have to decide, is how long you want to stay. Use us as a stopping off point for business visits to the area; stay with us as a holiday journey-breaker as you head north or south; spend a luxury weekend with us mixing city and countryside; or relax for a week and use us as a base to explore England’s quietest and most beautiful county, Northumberland!

You could even base yourself at St Mary’s Inn for the Cyclone Festival of Cycling. We’d love to see you what you think of our sports bar, where signed cycling jerseys are in pride of place.
