About the Event
The Tyne 6 Bridges rides offer the choice of two gentle routes along flat Sustrans trails beside one of the UK’s most important waterways. Starting from the convenient free car park at The Cycle Hub (Ouseburn, Newcastle Quayside NE6 1BU), where there is a cycle shop, café and toilets, the rides are a great way to experience Newcastle-upon-Tyne's unique waterfront, with a mix of stunning modern architecture and historic bridges.
The two routes are 10.5 miles and 15.5 miles in length, both ideal for those who want a leisurely cycling experience. They are perfect for occasional cyclists or those who want to ride with young families. The cycle route charity, Sustrans, is responsible for cycle routes all over the country and they oversaw the creation of routes along both sides of the river Tyne, which we use for this event (Sustrans' Routes 72 & 14 are used). The routes are traffic free, well signposted, and with marshals at key points.

We'd like to reassure everyone who enters our 2021 events that they too will be offered a full refund of their entry fee or have their entry carried over to the next running of the Cyclone, should we have to cancel in July 2021 due Coronavirus restrictions.
