We’re delighted to announce that entries are now OPEN for the 2026 Cyclone Festival of Cycling – one of the UK’s longest-running and most loved cycling events.

THE FAMILY RIDES

The River Tyne Family Rides return on Saturday 4 July 2026, with two flat, friendly routes (8 or 14 miles) along beautiful riverside paths and National Cycle Network routes.
?? Traffic-free cycle paths
?? Fully signposted and marshalled
?? Easy access and free parking at Newburn Activity Centre
?? Perfect for families and occasional cyclists

The Cyclone Challenge Rides return on Sunday 5 July 2026, with four stunning routes through Northumberland’s finest landscapes – all refreshed for 2026.
?? Distance options: 35, 66, 83 or 102 miles
??? Over 20 miles of brand-new roads on the 102-mile route
?? Quiet lanes, big views and classic Northumberland riding
